Junior Monarchs Name Nic Cota Youth Director, Jim Gaudet named Assistant Coach at Babson College

The New Hampshire Junior Monarchs are excited to announce a change in the leadership of our Youth Hockey Program.  Jim Gaudet, who has been our Youth Director since July of 2020, was recently offered a position as an Assistant Coach with Babson College.  This is a tremendous opportunity for Jim and his family.  Jim has been an incredible asset to our program here since last summer. We congratulate him and wish him the best in his new venture. While Jim will be Full Time with Babson College, he will stay on this season, running skills for our Mite Minor through Bantam Major travel teams on Tuesday evenings.

Jim's departure as Youth Director,  opened the door for Nic Cota, another member of the Junior Monarchs and Tri-Town Ice Arena family to take over this position.

Originally from Bangor, Maine, Nic grew up surrounded by the world of sports but found a particular liking to hockey at a young age. Playing all throughout his youth, he got the opportunity to play junior hockey at Walpole Express, then moved on to Southern Maine at the NCAA level where he played for a short period time as both a forward and defenseman before a career ending injury. This led him into the coaching side of hockey, where he says he was fortunate enough to land his first job at only 22 years old at Portland High School in Maine. After two seasons with Portland, he  accepted a position with the Florida Panthers doing player development as well as coaching both the 14U & 16U age group. After one season there, he decided he wanted to be closer to home and put his roots back in New England and has been with the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs for the last 3 seasons as the Head Coach for the USPHL Premier Team. Nic is going on his 4th season here with us coaching Junior Hockey . He is extremely humbled for the opportunity to work on the youth side, and is looking forward to working with all the wonderful kids and their families to help them grow and develop into strong young hockey players! The Junior Monarchs are excited for the leadership and guidance Coach Cota will provide to the program.
